Hello Liz, thank you for your thoughtful reply.
The InPower leadership and core volunteer teams and all of our members are holding other men and women (CEO's and public officials) accountable for their actions, therefore we must also be held accountable for our actions. We take this very seriously and have pledged to do so.

No one is being forced to join our zoom webinar. We all make choices -- all the time.

Our choice has been to follow our core principles, Love & Unity, Honesty & Integrity, Honor & Respect, Be Forgiving & Constructive.

These values are outlined in our Member Agreement.

Our new permanent site will have a secure private server and the ability to conduct video meetings, share videos, create videos with a screen share, etc. We are so excited by this new platform that we can hardly contain ourselves.

We have been working hard to provide this unique community for all who can join us in UNITY and that unity can only be achieved by a deep appreciation of our core values and principles....

While I appreciate your perspective in that you and the other members "have nothing to hide," that is not why I am bringing this up. "Privacy" in this case does not mean "hiding nefarious behavior." When I reference privacy, I am talking about the ownership of content between all parties who participate on the platform, and the security of people's individual devices and privacy therein.
Isn't Tresspassing Technology one of the causes on this site?
It seems to me that we are working on developing a new "platform" in itself, are we not? And if so, shouldn't we be using software that is in alignment with our principles, and would serve as a strong foundation going forward? Zoom operates on a centralized platform, and they can change their policy at any time.
Here is Zoom's privacy policy as of today: Notice how specific it is, and how they have lied in the past about these things. How do we know they are not lying still? We should just assume they are, because evidence the evidence suggests it. https://zoom.us/docs/en-us/privacy-and-security.html
Riot.im is one alternative for video conferencing, with end-to-end encryption. https://about.riot.im They don't even HAVE a privacy policy, because the data is encrypted and everyone owns their own data.
Jami is completely peer-to-peer. https://jami.net/ They also have no privacy policy because there aren't any centralized servers at all.
"Arguing that you don't care about the right to privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different than saying you don't care about free speech because you have nothing to say. - E. Snowden

Zoom acquired Keybase and has made some major changes with security on their platform in light of recent events: https://blog.zoom.us/wordpress/2020/05/07/zoom-acquires-keybase-and-announces-goal-of-developing-the-most-broadly-used-enterprise-end-to-end-encryption-offering/

Yes, I know, so I won't be using Keybase any longer. All the other points I made still stand. I look forward to experiencing the new platform.

Hi Liz, we really have nothing to hide! We are not doing anything wrong. We are operating in the most peaceful and honorable way possible. What we talk about is not a secret. We are not afraid of anything. The InPower grassroots movement does not propagate fear or anger or harm to anyone.

Our members do not need to show their names or faces on camera -- you can always turn those features off.

And you can always watch the recording, so you need not participate in real time....

Furthermore, those with security expertise on our InPower team, who know more about these things than I do, often say that nothing is secure. So, those who record criminal actions with zoom or any other platform cannot hide and should probably not do those things!
